Carlos Quichiz is one of the three founding partners of JRQ & Associates. He primarily practices immigration.
He attended the University of Connecticut where he received his bachelor’s degrees in history and political science. Afterward, he began working at an immigration law firm, where he worked for three years, and discovered his interest in law, particularly immigration law. He then attended the Chicago-Kent School of Law.
Originally born in Peru and having immigrated to the United States in 1991, Mr. Quichiz brings a unique perspective to JRQ, particularly with regard to its immigration practice. He brings more than a decade of legal experience to each case and has a strong track record of obtaining favorable results and swift resolutions. He is known for speed, quality, honesty, and persistence. Carlos has successfully represented individuals in diverse aspects of immigration law before the immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Federal District Courts, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He also represents clients in deportation defense, detention and bond issues, the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), waivers of inadmissibility, asylum, and adjustment of status and naturalization applications, among other matters. Carlos has helped many obtain work permits and has assisted thousands of people in coming to the United States to become permanent residents, advance their educations, work, and pursue opportunities. His clients come from every country around the world, from every walk of life, and range from governmental and corporate to ordinary people.
In his free time, Mr. Quichiz enjoys sports and staying active. He is an avid runner, having recently completed the 2013 Chicago Marathon with plans to run in more marathons in the future.
